Appraisal requires two parts–the evaluation and the valuation. Evaluation is determining what an item is, which requires a GIA Graduate Gemologist. Valuation is determining what that item is valued at monetarily, and that requires specialized valuation training and title. Even if you have a gemologist on staff, a gemologist alone cannot create a properly researched appraisal.

Our field gemology lab is staffed by GIA trained personnel who are also certified appraisers.
